CTRA To Commence Operations In The Central Senatorial District on October 2, 2024
The chairman of the Cross River Commercial Transportation Agency (CTRA), Efa Nyong, has announced that the agency will officially begin operations in Ikom and other LGAs of the Central Senatorial District on October 2, 2024.
Nyong made the announcement during a meeting with key stakeholders in the transportation sector in Ä°kom, the zonal headquarters, which included heads of the various transport unions, public and private park operators, security agencies, government representatives, traditional rulers and other local leaders. He maintained that the initiative is aimed at enhancing local security and creating a safer environment for all citizens, in line with the People First agenda of Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, governor of the state and emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties of Cross Riverians.
The chairman expressed gratitude to the Director-General of the DGSA, staff of the Ikom local government council, royal fathers and security agencies for their invaluable contributions to the success of the meeting and called for continued engagement among stakeholders to positively impact the sector and state.
Efa Nyong also acknowledged the visionary leadership of Governor Otu, thanking him for his unwavering commitment to protecting lives and properties in the state and for considering him fit to head the agency. Special recognition was accorded the heads of the various security agencies present, including the Commander of the 245 RECCE Battalion, representatives from NSCDC, FRSC, Area Command Ä°kom, police divisional headquarters and state security services, as well as the respected royal fathers, particularly HRH Chief Njang NkangAbang.
In their respective remarks, the various stakeholders expressed their gratitude for the engagement and pledged their support for the initiative, which they believe reflects a strong commitment to safety and collaboration. They expressed confidence in the leadership of CTRA under Efa Nyong and looked forward to a collective effort in ensuring a thriving and secure environment for the residents of the Central Senatorial District.
