In Nigeria, practitioners who have become famous for their crafts  seem to turn their back on their associations once they are made. They become too busy or pompous  all of sudden to the organizations that moulded them to fame and affluence. For instance, in the Nollywood association known as the Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN, the umbrella body for all actors in Nigeria, stars find it difficult to attend meetings and special events organized by the guild. There seem to be a law prohibiting them from participating in the activities of the organization they once pledged allegiance to. Sometimes they even demand some  fees before they would honour invitations to attend events of the association. It is not so in the western world. CROSS RIVER STATE GOVERNMENT APPREHEND ILLEGAL LOGGERS

As part of its conservation drive aimed at reducing emissions, Cross River State government, Thursday, apprehended illegal loggers as well as the seizure of large quantity of organic hardwood extracted from her forests. Briefing newsmen at the CROWEI site of the confiscated woods, opposite Governor's office, Calabar, Governor, Ben Ayade, maintained that "if Cross River reduces its guard over her forests, Nigerians will be in for real trouble." According to Ayade, "over time, there has been massive deforestation of Cross River which holds over 58 percent of the entire forest cover of Nigeria. The risk, if Cross River compromises her forest reserve is that, climate change will be accelerated and the consequences will be very total to Nigeria." The Senator Representing Cross River Central in the National Assembly and APC Candidate in the just concluded Governorship Elections in Cross River State, Senator John Owan Enoh has described the death of Obudu  born Legislator and foremost politician Rt Hon Paul Andeshi Adah as a collosal loss to Cross River State in particular and the country at large.
