NEMA, CR-SEMA Assesses Fire Incident at Atamunu By David Asu The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (CR-SEMA) and other relevant stakeholders have conducted a joint Damage and Needs Assessment of the aftermath of a fire incident that affected residents of 21 Atamunu Street in Calabar last night. The assessment conducted on Friday, 21 August by a joint team comprising of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), CR-SEMA, the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Department of State Services (DSS) visited the affected area to ascertain the extent of damage and engage residents on the impact of the incident on their homes and personal belongings. Private Donor Supports CR-SEMA’s Flood Response with Relief Items By David Asu A private individual from Cross River State, simply identified as Mr. Peter, has extended support to the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (CR-SEMA) to assist persons displaced by recent flooding across the state. The donor, who currently lives abroad and wished to remain anonymous, provided assorted food items, beverages, washing and other essential household materials to support the immediate needs of flood-affected persons. The items were delivered to the Agency by the Director-General of the Cross River State Debt Management Department, Mr. Ekpe Essien Ekpe, who represented the donor in presenting the items to the Director-General of CR-SEMA, Mr. Efa Nyong.
