   Gov. Otu Appoints Gab Onah As Chairman, Carnival Commission, Ojoi Ekpenyong As MD, Tourism Bureau  The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the following appointments into the Cross River State Carnival Commission 2023: i. Mr. Gabe Onah – Executive Chairman ii. James Bullem – Member iii. Grace Ann Nku – Member iv. Shirley Effiom – Member v. Bassey Effiom Archibong – Member vi. Austin Cobham - Secretary Similarly, Mr. Ojoi Ekpeyong has been appointed as the Managing Director, Cross River State Tourism Bureau.   In a related development, Mr. Effiong A. Ekpeyong and Mr. Tomas Edim Ikpeme have been appointed as Special Advisers, Events Management, Governor’s Office and Tourism Development, respectively. All the appointments take effect from August 1, 2023. Red Cross Meets C'River Humanitarian Commissioner, Offers To Train Staff Of The Ministry  The Red Cross organisation on Tuesday paid a visit to the office of the Honorable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Helen Egodo, in Calabar.  The representative of the organization, Mr. Fortune Inyang, expressed appreciation for being hosted by the honorable commissioner and introduced the staff and their duties.  Also, Mr. Agbo, a member of the Disaster Unit, congratulated the commissioner on her appointment and discussed plans to set up disaster response teams within Calabar Metropolis. The Head of Training, Mr. Daniel Asuquo, emphasized the importance of staff training on emergency response and highlighted the significant role played by the Red Cross at all levels of government. He pleaded with the commissioner to grant the organization a day for training the ministry's staff. Humanitarian Commissioner, Helen Egodo, Writes Cross Riverians as Severe Flooding Expected in Bakassi, Obubra, Ikom, Other LGAs The Cross River Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Helen Egodo, has issued a warning regarding the severe weather and flooding expected in several parts of the State, including Bakassi, Obubra and Ikom Local Government Areas. Other Local Government Areas expected to experience flooding are Yala, Etung, Odukpani, Ogoja, Akpabuyo and Biase.  In a press release dated 29th August, 2023, the commissioner explained that going by the announcement made by the Cameroon government to release water from the legdo dam, there is an increased risk of flooding in the aforementioned LGAs of the state.   She urged residents in these LGAs to take necessary precautions and stay alert during this period, while assuring them of the state government's commitment to preventing, mitigating and proffering solution to ensure that the release does not impact negative affect

Crop And Irrigation Development Commissioner Undertakes Facility Tour Of The Ministry  The Commissioner for Crops and Irrigation Development, Hon.
