Dr. Helen Egodo Holds Familiarisation Meeting With Management And Staff Of The Humanitarian Affairs Ministry


The Honorable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Dr. (Mrs.) Helen Isamoh Egodo, on Tuesday, 29 August, 2023, held a closed-door meeting with the Management and staff of her Ministry.

In an opening remark, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Mbong Atu Ausaji thanked the Honorable Commissioner for the opportunity to interface with her and chart a new course for the ministry, assuring her of the staff readiness to support and compliment her efforts in delivering on the mandate saddled on her and the Ministry, adding that the Ministry is blessed to have her at the helm of affair, judging from her wealth of experience and track records. 

Mrs Mbong equally thanked the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet, and his dear Wife Rev. Mrs. Eyoawan Otu for appointing capable hands into the State Executive Council.

The Honorable Commissioner, while addressing the management team, encouraged them to be committed to their duties and ensure that the expectations of Cross Riverians are satisfied. She said staff of the defunct Ministry of SDGs will be merged together with both humanitarian and social welfare, while urging them to work in unison, love one another and be committed to their duties.

She maintained that her presence in the ministry was at the instance of the Executive Governor of Cross River State, H.E. Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and his dear wife, Her Excellency, Eyoanwan Otu and would do everything possible to ensure that their expectations are not dashed. She further informed the staff that all the commissioners sent to the various ministries are capable hands, and they are there to work with them and also to help implement the policies of the State, and that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs will take punctuality very seriously. She announced that her office is very open to opinions, advice, and possible ideas to drive governance forward.

The commissioner maintained that judging from His Excellency's track record in the Senate, Cross Riverians should expect sweetness all ways.
