FESTUS OBAJI STAGES SURVIVAL PARTY AT CHRIST THE KING

Christ the King Catholic Church Nkum Akpambe, Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State  was set agog yesterday as friends and well wishers of young entrepreneur and Nollywood Actor Festus Obaji trooped in to celebrate with the Yala born businessman over an accident that nearly claimed the life of his younger brother According to one of his friends and computer scientist Fepsi Ogri, the incident which occurred along the Ikom Calabar Highway led to the total damage of the car yet no life was loss.   He said that was why the family, friends and well wishers of the young actor decided to follow him to the church to thank God.

  Eriacy Confidence, CEO of Coneri Magazine writes: 'Obubra is undoubtedly one of the oldest LGAs in  Nigeria and Cross River State in particular. But it is quiet unfortunate that, inspite of all the historic, material and human endowments of the area, it is still the least developed in the state. Several reasons have been put forward as the bane for the gross under development, Chief among them is leadership. It might interest you to know that since the creation of the LGA, only one Yala man has mounted on it as chairman and that is Dr.( or now Professor) Theophilus Owan which lasted barely six months. Outside him, every other Chairman of the area has been an Mbembe man and for several years now, no visible developmental stride has accompanied their leadership. Instead of growing, Obubra is rather  static or do I say progressing in anticlockwise direction when our contemporaries are competing with the west in terms of developments. Take for instance, in the area of banking
