The election which was held in Ikom, was  keenly contested, with members allowed the opportunity to cast their votes for their preferred candidates. Declaring the results, the Chairman of the AGN Electoral Committee (AGNEC), Mrs. Ezinne Owoh, described the exercise as free, fair, and credible, noting that the transparent process reflects the growing maturity of the guild in the state. Yala Chairman Not Suspended or Impeached -Media Team Clarifies Reports circulating on social media that the Chairman of Yala Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Fred Okem, has been impeached or suspended for three months have been dismissed as false and misleading. In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the chairman,  Emmanuel Unah, the team described the reports as “baseless and mischievous,” stressing that Hon. Okem remains the duly elected and serving Chairman of Yala LGA. According to the clarification, what transpired was a meeting convened by the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt.
