FG, Police, Cross River Govt Inaugurate Taskforce on Haulage Transport Safety and Security Arising from incessant reports of vehicular and truck crashes caused by road unworthiness and other safety concerns, the Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a Taskforce on Haulage Transport Safety and Security Compliance in Calabar, the Cross River State capital. The initiative, driven by the Presidential Joint National Transport Safety Committee (JNTSC) in collaboration with the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Department of Operations (Transport), and the Cross River State Government, seeks to evolve an all-inclusive strategy to curb road traffic crashes involving haulage and related vehicles across the state. It is also designed to implement the objectives of the United Nations Global Road Safety Agenda.
