The electoral committee for the conduct of the 2019/2020 post graduate students Government elections of the university of calabar, have officially announced the postponment of electoral activities. In a publication signed by the eleco secretary, Barr. Patrick Utitufon and the eleco chairman, Comr. Ubi Samuel, it is stated that, due to the plethora of petitions that have been filed in by interested parties and the need for proper investigations to be carried out to enhance the conduct of a free, fair and credible elections, the students affairs division of the institution in conjunction with the electoral committee have postponed the post graduate students Government elections, to a suitable date that will be communicated to all post graduate students and parties involved soon, with the publication of a new timetable for the elections.

The post graduate students Government electoral committee, headed by comr. Samuel ibor has exhaustively screened aspirants of different electoral offices in the post graduate students Government of the university of calabar. Before commencing screening of the aspirants, the committee chairman and his members sternly warned the aspirants against presenting of false documents for screening as such exhibitions will engender excruciating penalties on them. While screening the aspirants, comr. Freeman and comr. Ototo who are both members of the electioneering board were mandated by the electoral chairman to conduct intensive investigations on the contestants credentials and character, so as to ensure that aspirants are of good character and are devoid of malfeasance that will denigrate the reputation of the post graduate students Government of the university of calabar.
