*"REFUND OF UNEARNED SALARY."* HON CLETUS OBUN, former lawmaker, political strategist, public affairs analyst, in Cross River State has again made headlines, broken records and surmounted the temptations of achieving what is not his. Over the week, the former lawmaker, who have continue to stentorously stood for justice and what is right, and vociferously agitated, lended his voice and clamoured for diligence, discipline in leadership and the need for a servant-leader, passionate and pro-people policies targeted at the wellbeing of the general public, to self-served, and self-aggrandized leaders with dotspots of a tyrant has earned himself another badge in the face of posterity, written his name in the sands of time by returning/ refunding to the Cross River State Government salaries sent to him. The past government and it's cartels tried indelibly to taint him, but, him being fair, truthful, most transparent, and highly equiped with the fear of God surmounted the temptations and came out unhurt, unblemished, unstained and unstripped of any accusations. The previous administration attempted to humiliate Hon Cletus Obun, disappoint him and paint him black, but God, who he serves, will further exempt, exonerate and always appoint him for greater achievements. In an official letter to the office of the Governor of Cross River State, through the Accountant General, Calabar, he wrote to notify the authority of his refunds of the sum of; "Two hundred and forty two thousand, nine hundred and seventy four naira, sixty Kobo (242, 974:60) only, which according to him, presumed to be sent by error from the Cross River State Government salary account. Furthermore, Hon Cletus Obun, cleared the air, he said, "I am not an appointee or employee of Cross River State and cannot iI am not an appointee or employee of Cross River State and cannot in good conscience collect money i did not workn good conscience collect money i did not work for. Holistically, he transferred the exact amount to appropriate account upon request by the State Auditor General. This is an unprecedented antecedent and worth applause and emulation.
