The Special Assistant to Governor Bassey Otu on Support Groups Matters, Deacon Clement Asanye, has sought the collaboration of the Ministry of Human Capital Development and other government agencies in the state to empower support groups.

Asanye made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Human Capital Development, Hon. Kingsley Egumi in his office on Thursday, August 8, 2024, expressing his commitment to enhancing the welfare and empowerment of support groups in the state.

He maintained that the meeting was necessary to establish a collaborative framework between his office and the Ministry of Human Capital Development, with a focus on harnessing resources and opportunities for the benefit of support groups across the state,

noting that the ongoing empowerment initiatives in the state would be leveraged to uplift support groups, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the state's development.

In his reaction, the Cross River Commissioner for Human Capital Development, Hon. Kingsley Egumi, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of support groups in driving social and economic change. He assured the Special Assistant of the Ministry's commitment to working together to create opportunities for support groups, particularly in the areas of capacity building and enhancing skills acquisition opportunities, increasing access to economic empowerment programs and resources and
