Audition for Cross River Talent Hunt Show, an initiative of the Cross River State Ministry of Culture and Tourism Development began today 15th August 2018 at Marina Resort Calabar
. The audition which had in attendance over five hundred contestants from the various Local Government areas of the state with different talents is scheduled to last for three days.
According to the Honourable commissioner for Culture and Tourism development and former chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN), Cross River State chapter,Comrade Eric Anderson, the objective of the show is to discover and promote talents in the state thereby helping to populate the creative industry with talents from the state which is the drive of the senator Professor Ben Ayade led administration. He said that the present administration has done a lot to improve the welfare of the youths in the state, particularly in the areas of entertainment and tourism urge them to take advantage of the various programs initiated by the Ben Ayade led government to better their lives. The commissioner further pleaded with all the youths in the state to shun cultism, drug abuse,violence and other social vices associated with their type saying the Ayade Government has provided all the necessary framework for all the youths to be useful in the society.
The audition saw the first phase of contestants showcasing their talents in singing, dance, acting, poetry, craft, script writing etc.
The audition will continue tomorrow 16th August and ends on the 17th. The grand finale will be on the second of September 2018 at the Culture Center Calabar
