CROSS RIVER STATE AGN FITNESS WALK A HUGE SUCCESS: ERIC,JO, PAM, BEATRICE, LOKOME, OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE.


The Cross River State AGN fitness walk held today August 18th 2018 (18-08-18) was a huge success. The exercise had in attendance numerous stakeholders of the guild, Chief  amongst them are: the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development and former Chairman of AGN Cross River State chapter Mr.  Eric Anderson,the Senior Special Adviser to the president on Monitoring - South South Comr. PamSilver Sikpo, former Vice Chairman of AGN CRS Hon.  Sunday Owoche AKA SCOTO, Sasa Lokome and others.


The exercise which commenced at 6:30AM prompt at U. J. Esuene stadium saw participants covering all the popular streets in Calabar.

In an address after the exercise, the Honourable Commissioner told members that the ministry of Culture and Tourism recognises Jo Esse led Executive as the legitimate and the only substantive body governing the Actors Guild of Nigeria in the state adding that his office will support his administration to any extent provided he (Job)  tows the path of honour. The commissioner also called on talented and interested members with ideas to play into the opportunity they now have to enable them achieve their aims in life.
He promised to ensure that the guild benefits all round from his office.
In appreciation, the Chairman of  Cross River State chapter of the Actors guild of Nigeria and House of Assembly Aspirant for Yala 2 State Constituency Comr. Jo Esse thanked the Honourable Commissioner for his unalloyed support for the new executive and the guild in general promising that the administration will not disappoint the expectations of members. The chairman who is also an SA to Governor, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade assured members of an all inclusive government as portrayed by the governor urging them to lend their support to the AGN CRS executive at every time required  in their two year tenure.

Also  speaking, one of the stakeholders of the guild and former DGS,  Emmanuel Effa Williamson AKA Sasa Lokome advised the executive to attract productions to the state to enable members realize their goals of joining the industry.

In a similar call, Cross River born filmmaker and CEO of Coneri Magazine, Eriacy Confidence urged the new executive to ensure a welfare package for producers Who will want to work  in the state adding that such a package will motivate others to patronize Cross River State in terms of production.Eriacy Confidence who is also the Secretary, AGN Central advised members to support the new executive to move the guild to another level.


In excitement, one of Calabar based popular movie producer & CEO MB Rolls Movies, Mrs. Mbotidem, promised to release her equipment for AGN productions Free of Charge whenever the guild calls. Also, popular cinematographer Mike Oyong promised to be available for free service whenever the guild needs his services.

In a special speech,The mother of the guild, seasoned producer,veteran actress  and Personal secretary to Sen. Liyel Imoke, former Governor of Cross River State,who doubles as the Chairperson Cross River State AGN Fitness Walk ,Mrs Beatrice Akonjom thanked members for reviving the fitness walk and advised them to imbibe  the culture of peace and unity in the course of their career as actors instead of making troubles. The famous executive producer further called on members who have not aligned with the Jo Esse led executive to do so in the interest of peace and progress stressing that the interest of the guild must be considered a priority. The stakeholder concluded by ordering drinks for all the members present before leaving.



Even though the whether in Calabar was so unfriendly in the morning hours of the day, members came enmass to participate in the exercise, including members from both Monica's and Maureen's groups. The success of the exercise according to members is a green light that peace has returned to the guild.




As part of the peace and unity trek, the AGN CRS Chairman Jo Esse, led stakeholders & members of the guild to celebrate with one Miss Joy Asuquo, a member of AGN CRS chapter, who marked her birthday today. Members in the spirit of love sang and danced with Joy Asuquo. In appreciation, the actress assured the new executive of her unreserved support to moving the guild forward, urging all factions or groups, to align with the Jo Esse led government.
Another member of the guild who came all the from Port Harcourt, Rivers state, to be part of the fitness exercise, Miss Joy Duke, told members that she came because of the love she has for the guild and pledged her unreserved support for the new executive

In a similar development, the Actors Guild of Nigeria Cross River Central also held their fitness walk around Ikom, as instructed by the state chairman Jo Esse. That such was necessary to take place simultaneously in Ikom, the heart of AGN CRS Central. In a congratulatory message the Ikom Satellite zone coordinator, Peter Green thanked all the members for attending the exercise urging them to continue in the spirit of unity love and Progress, as proposed by Mr. Jo Esse. The exercise which began as early as 6:30AM from Government Secondary school Ikom, saw members celebrating round the whole town.
