Senator Eteng Williams Mourns the Death of Rt. Hon. Ntol Chris Ngoro Agibe

It is with profound sorrow that I received the news of the passing of Rt. Hon. Ntol Chris Ngoro Agibe, a two-term Member of the House of Representatives for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency between 2015 and 2023.

Rt. Hon. Agibe was more than a political figure; he was a steward of development whose legacy is written in the lives he touched and the communities he uplifted. As a former federal legislator, he brought a calm intellect, a quiet strength, and an unwavering dedication to the task of representation. He understood that leadership was not about titles but outcomes, and he pursued progress with humility and resolve.

His contributions in the National Assembly brought meaningful intervention projects to his constituency, reflecting a consistent vision for inclusive development. But beyond politics, Hon. Agibe was a cultural custodian, a proud son of the Bakor Nation, and a traditional chief of repute in Alok.

His love for culture and community expression was further exemplified in his role as one of the founding leaders of the iconic Passion 4 Carnival Band at the inception of Carnival Calabar. Under his leadership, Passion 4 became a vibrant symbol of creativity, winning several awards and promoting the Carnival beyond the shores of Nigeria — a legacy that continues to energize our Carnival Calabar.

In mourning his passing, we remember not just the offices he held but the honor with which he held them. His death is a painful loss, not only to his family and community, but to all of us who believe in selfless service and people-centered governance.

On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Cross River Central Senatorial District, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Agibe family, to the Bakor Nation, and the entire Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency. May his memory continue to inspire, and may the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest.

Senator Eteng Jonah Williams

Senator Representing Cross River Central Senatorial District.
