AGN NORTH EAST POSITION ON SENATOR ISHAKU ABBO’s NOMINATION & AWARD AS A PATRON OF THE ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA.

AGN NORTH EAST POSITION ON SENATOR ISHAKU ABBO’s NOMINATION & AWARD AS A PATRON
OF THE ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA.

Our attention has been drawn to various campaigns on social media to smear the person of Senator Ishaku Abbo (SIA).
Senator Ishaku Abbo is the current Senator representing Northern senatorial district of Adamawa state, under the platform of PDP, he defeated Senator Binta Masi Garba.
The spread of that purported assault video was sponsored by his political opponents in an attempt to tarnish his image, but in his wisdom he publicly apologized which very few elites seldomly do.
Senator Ishaku went on National Media and apologized to his party, the victim's family and the church at large, his apology was accepted not only by his supporters but his opponents as well.
The youths in the north east see him as an Icon and are proud of him, because it takes humility and repentance to come up on National Media space and apologize. After all to err is human and forgiveness is divine.
The senator is our beacon of hope as he has contributed immensely to the creative sector in the North East.
He has Spearheaded major developmental projects which include, Northeast development commission which we were made to understand that there are provisions to empower the youths in skill developments.
He ensured that the two local government ravaged by Boko Haram ( Michika and Madagali ) are restored to the national grid.
He also requested for the constructions of two medium Dams in Kwajafa and Muchalla both in Mubi South and north respectfully.
He has paid several surgical bills at federal medical center Yola, provided scholarships, supported girl child education regardless of their tribes and religion. There are several on going rural roads construction within his constituency. We make bold to say that have seen a total transformation in every aspect of his life.
Our recommendation was based on his performance and support to actors and youths in North East.
Where were our senior colleagues who are paid to smear the image of our Patron when Boko Haram destroyed the creative industry in the North East.
How many of them even called us to find out if we are alive.
Every professional Organization supported their members in the North East over the crises, how many of our stars organized any welfare program in our support.
They will rather come to our Governors, collect money and disappear without recourse to the plight of their colleagues.
Why are the cries coming from only women of Southern extraction, they think we don’t have female activists in the North to fight SIA? Their conscience cannot be bought.
We are quite aware that they are being used by the opposition to smear the image of SIA.
We the members of the Actors Guild Nigeria North East have resolved that no amount of attempt to drag the name of the Senator into the mud would be tolerated; we are solidly in support of his award.
In their desperate efforts to dance to the tune of their sponsors, they forgot that there was a victim in the assault saga, where is she? Why are they crying more than the bereaved?
AGN is not only for Southerners.
We most sincerely acknowledge the zeal and enthusiasm the present AGN executives are exhibiting to take the guild to the Promised Land. Let’s shun sentiments and combine forces and build a guild that Nigeria and the world will be proud of.
Respect the choices of the Northern members.
Thank you and God bless the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
