Egbara Commends Ayade For Evolving A Strategy of Successful  Distribution Of Palliatives In The State

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has been commended for evolving a workable strategy that has so far led to the huge success recorded in the distribution of palliatives under his "Operation Feed the Vulnerable persons, Widows and the Aged" in the State.

The Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare, Hon. Blessing Egbara, who gave the commendation while rounding up the distribution of the palliatives in the Central Senatorial District, last week at Obubra.

She revealed that the huge success recorded so far, from the Northern to the Central Senatorial Districts' of the state is a clear indication of the workability of the strategy which the governor directed the Ministry of Humanity to employ.

Egbara said that as a result of the practicability of the method empoyed, she and her team have been able to penetrate every nooks and crannies of the LGAs in the Northern and Central Senatorial Districts' that have been covered.

In her words: we  reached  out to all including riverine communities, and she  called on the Southern senatorial District to get ready as the team will be with the people in the next few days.

"So far we started from Boki LGA, from Boki we got to Ikom, we gave the Palliatives in Etung, from Etung we moved down to Abi, from Abi we moved down to Yakurr and here we are, Obubura local government, we are rounding up today from central, we want to say it has been a very interesting exercise, there have been lots of challenges but we've been able to surmount them and we've been able to make the people very happy."


Hon. Egbara further stated "We are rounding up central today, as you can see we are in Ogurude community in Obubura LGA, we crossed the river today to meet with the people on this side, the communities that are along the riverine area, to still prove to them that the river cannot separate them from government, we've come to give the Palliatives here. I must once again thank God for protection and the governor, Seen. Prof Ben Ayade for making the exercise possible."


Distributing the palliatives to beneficiaries in all the Communities in Osopong 1, Osopong 2., Ofumbongha/Yala ward, Urban, Apiapum, Ochon, Iyami, Ovonum, Ofodua, Ababene and Ofat ward, the Humanity and Social Welfare Commissioner explained that the governor's gesture came at a time, the said category of persons needed it most especially at this period of global pandemic.




Speaking, the Chairman of Obubura LGA council, Dr Bassey Tom expressed joy and thanks to the Governor for what he is doing to the people of the state especially the above-mentioned category of Cross Riverians, commended the Commissioner and her team for their efforts that has brought alot of financial relief to him and material relief to his people.




"I feel so relieved, very elated because there's a lot of pressure here, especially across the river where there are crisis situations here and there on a daily basis, so your coming will make a very big sense. The palliative will go a long Way to assist the people to ameliorate their suffering.




"I want to thank the Digital Governor for he has done so well, he has a good mind for his people, we pray that God blesses him more so he can continue to give us good dividends of Democracy," the Chairman concluded. We the people of Obubra Will always Stand With Governor Ben Ayade," the Chairman concluded.




Expressing appreciation to the Governor and the team, after receiving the Palliatives, One of the beneficiaries Mr Wilfred Isangha, stated, "I am very very grateful, more grateful than any other time because this is the first time this type of a thing is coming our way, I also want to thank the digital Governor, we the people of Obubura appreciate him so much and we will fight anyone who fights him, I also want to Thank the Commissioner for her effort because these things have not been diverted, I'm very sure that as they were given to her, that is how we have received them here."
