Cross River Inaugurates Humanitarian Policy Development Committee

The Cross River State Government, through its Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Ministry has inaugurated the Humanitarian Policy Development Committee. 

The Committee, named the Committee of Sweetness, was inaugurated today 2nd May, 2023 at the Ministry's Conference hall, Hope Waddel Avenue, Calabar, by the Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Chief Dr. Helen Isamo Egodo with the responsibility of crafting a policy document that will guide the delivery of humanitarian services in the state in line with the People-First Mantra of the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu. The policy will focus on efficient and sustainable methods of service delivery, with clear goals and accountability measures.

During her address, Egodo, emphasized the Government's commitment to prioritizing the welfare and wellbeing of every individual in the state, highlighting the importance of collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for progress in crafting a policy framework that addresses the diverse needs of the various communities in the state.
She expressed confidence in the committee's ability to develop an innovative and result-oriented policy document, calling on all members to dedicate themselves to the task at hand and ensure the policy brings about positive change and alleviates challenging situations in the state. 

The committee, consisting of representatives drawn from Civil Society Organisations, (CSOs), Non Governmental Organizations( NGOs), Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state, promised to carry out its tasks with diligence and to engage all stakeholders with the aim of achieving its objectives.
