Radiant Hearts Children Support Initiative Distributes Uniforms, Sandals, Writing Materials to Less-Privileged Pupils in Yala-Obubra

Less-privileged pupils of Christ the King Primary School, Yala-Obubra, Cross River State, on Monday received a major educational boost as the Radiant Hearts Children Support Initiative distributed school uniforms, sandals and writing materials to support their learning and overall wellbeing.

The outreach programme, organised by the Association of Precious Pearls is aimed at improving access to education and promoting better living conditions for vulnerable children in underserved communities.

Speaking during the exercise, the President of the Association, Mrs. Idara Esu, explained that the organisation was established to provide children and vulnerable groups with equal opportunities in education, healthcare and overall human development.

She noted that the initiative demonstrates the group’s commitment to reducing barriers that prevent many children from accessing quality education, adding that investing in children remains one of the most effective ways of building a stronger and more prosperous society.

Mrs. Esu further revealed that Christ the King Primary School is the first beneficiary of the organisation’s outreach outside Calabar, expressing appreciation for the warm reception received from the school management and the Yala-Obubra community. She assured that the organisation looks forward to returning with more interventions to further support the pupils.

Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Flora Liclah Uko, daughter of the late Dr. Mathew Ojong Achigbe, former APC State Chairman, whose legacy inspired the outreach to the community, described the intervention as a meaningful step toward shaping a better future for young learners.

According to her, supporting children at the foundational stage of education helps nurture confidence, hope and academic excellence, stressing that the initiative is focused on “shaping the future, one step at a time.”

In appreciation, the Head Teacher of Christ the King Primary School and Clan Head of Yala-Obubra, HRH Ochuole Julius Ogar Odey, commended the organisers for their generosity and commitment to the educational advancement of the pupils, noting that the donated items would significantly ease the financial burden on parents while encouraging regular school attendance

Similarly, the President-General of the Yala Nkum Town Council, Prince Stephen Inaku Odey (DSP Rtd.), expressed gratitude to the Association of Precious Pearls for remembering the community and investing in the development of its children. She describing the initiative as a commendable example of community-driven humanitarian service and called on other organisations and well-meaning individuals to emulate the gesture

The pupils, teachers and the entire people of Yala-Obubra community expressed heartfelt appreciation to the donors, describing the intervention as timely and impactful in improving the learning environment and morale of the children.
