Ernest Joes Wins Obubra 1 APC Primaries
Tpl. Dr. Ernest Joes has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for Obubra 1 State Constituency, securing the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 Cross River State House of Assembly elections.
The primary election, which took place on Wednesday at the PCN Primary School Field in Ogada 2, Obubra LGA of Cross River State witnessed a large turnout of party faithful, stakeholders, youths, and women from across the four wards of the constituency.
The exercise ended with overwhelming support for Dr. Ernest Joes, as party stakeholders and members unanimously affirmed him as the APC flag bearer for Obubra 1 State Constituency.
Announcing the outcome of the primaries, the returning officer for the constituency, Erong Igwe commended the peaceful conduct of members and described the process as transparent, credible, and reflective of the collective will of the people.
Speaking after the exercise, former Chairman of Obubra Local Government Area and party leader, Bishop Chris Obasse, said the emergence of Ernest Joes was a product of wide consultations and the confidence the people have in his leadership capacity and grassroots connection.
According to him, the APC in Obubra 1 remains united and determined to present a candidate capable of providing effective representation, attracting development, and advancing the welfare of the people.
Stakeholders at the event described Dr. Ernest Joes as a humble, accessible, and visionary leader with a strong passion for community development and youth empowerment.
They maintained that his victory at the primaries symbolizes a new chapter of hope, inclusiveness, and progress for Obubra 1 State Constituency.
Responding to his emergence, Tpl. Dr. Ernest Joes expressed gratitude to party leaders, stskeholders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them that he would not betray the trust bestowed upon him
Declaring that “the Assembly is for the people,” he promised to pursue an inclusive and people-centered representation that would prioritize the welfare and aspirations of constituents.
He also appreciated the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his leadership and commitment towards peace, security, and development in the state.
Dr. Ernest Joes further declared that Obubra 1 was entering “a season of sweetness,” assuring the people of a brighter future driven by empowerment, quality representation, infrastructural development, and opportunities for youths and women.
He called on party faithful and the people of the constituency to remain united and committed as the APC prepares for victory in the 2027 general elections.
