Cross River Local Govt Polls 2020: Obubra Youths, Women, Traditional Rulers and others pledge support for PDP Flag bearer Bassey Tom as visit turns carnival

The youths, women and traditional Rulers of Obubra have expressed their overwhelming happiness for the emergence of  Dr. Bassey Agara Tom as flag bearer of the People's Democratic Party PDP for Obubra in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the state and pledged their support for the Bassey Tom Project.  The chairmanship Flag bearer who visited all the clans in the Local Government Area for the first time since his victory as candidate of the ruling People's Democratic Party ahead of the March Elections was received by a mammoth crowd of supporters across the length and breadth of Obubra.

 The visit was adjudged the most peaceful political rally in Obubra L.G.A started from the palace of  Kwididen of Adun having being received by thousands of supporters at  welcome to Obubra in Onyadama Village. His Royal Highness, the Kwididen of Adun gave his full consent and pledged full support for  Bassey Agara Tom(Ph.D).

Also, another major traditional head, the Ohorodo of Okum  aka Ofajijongha was visited, during which the revered monarch blessed and pledged full support for  Dr. Bassey Tom.

In the council headquarters, the flagbearer  expressed his grievances over the burnt office of the HoLGA  by unknown men and advised the youths to keep watch of the council and communities atlarge.

The chairman had time  with all his teaming  supporters in Gasfield bar where about 483 people including 3 ward chairmen of the All Progressive Congress and people from other parties identified themselves with the People's Democratic Party and with the aspiration of Dr Bassey Tom.

Meanwhile, APC in Obubra has finally lost structures since most of their supporters have returned home.

 The chiefs, Women and People of Ofumbongha no.3 expressed their unending joy to the party for their support to Dr. Bassey Agara Tom. (Ph.D).

The exercise ended with an official launch of the campaign banners which were labelled the largest barner ever displayed in Obubra L.G.A.
