The Member Representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the green chamber of the national Assembly Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo(Dansuki) has empowered constituents with farming tools and cash gifts worth over N150 Million.

The lawmaker who gathered beneficiaries and leaders from the various wards of the constituency at the Akamkpa Local Government Council hall yesterday, distributed well over 200 tricycles, wheel barrows, shovels and other Agricultural Tools to farmers and artisans cutting across the two LGAs.



Speaking to Sparkling Fm corespondence, Dansuki expressed satisfaction in the entire process, describing the country as a vast and fertile land for farmers to take  advantage to enable them overcome dependence on salary and white collar jobs as well as to enable them contribute meanigngfully to the economy of the state and country.

"Nigeria as a whole is blessed with a vast and fertile land; and Akamkpa and Biase are blessed with numerous mineral resources. Our people have been farming right from time immemorial and the proper utilization of our God given resources will enable us as a people to move past dependency on salary or white collared jobs."

 The lawmaker who said the purpose of the empowerment is to encourage and equip  those involved in farming with basic tools that will facilitate their farm operations, called on beneficiaries to coordinate themselves and work towards transcending small scale or subsistence farming.

"Nigeria is fast shifting from oil to an Agro based
Economy. It is one of the directions in which it headed to if we as a people properly coordinate ourselves
and work towards transcending small scale or Subsistence farming."

Rt Hon. Asuquo who said that building the constituents is his top priority, tasked beneficiaries to engage in the type of farming that will see them beyond fending for their families alone.



"It's my desire that the beneficiaries of today's empowerment go back with renewed zeal
and determination
to become better. Fend for themselves, their family and the community at large

It was huge success; to God be the glory. The capacity building of my people Remains top of my Priority List. By the grace of God we will continue to do more"

The Lawmaker who is the Chairman, house committeee on power thanked the leaders and people of Akamkpa/Biase for the trust reposed on him.

 Beneficiaries of the empowerment thanked the lawmaker for the gesture and plegded their continuous support.
