I have always maintained the position that unless the people of southern Nigeria unite and challenge the status quo, they'll continue to be an appendage of the North, who, though are by far less endowed but have mastered the art of unity and the culture of protecting the interest of their region. They have taken advantage of our current disunity, political tussles, religious and ethnic disharmony to place themselves in all sensitive positions in the country, while subjecting our region to playing second fiddle, the mighty South. They now control virtually all Public sectors in Nigeria. Check out the Judiciary, the legislature, the executive, the Ports, The Military, Aviation, NNPC, Education, the Media, everywhere and everything in this country, they are there in great number not just as junior staff but as directors and senior managers. While with all our Education and exposure, we are reduced to mere cleaners and undertake some of the most dehumanizing jobs.

Northerners will do everything in their power to ensure the country continues to operate on the current frequency and in favour of their region while we lament and hope that things will change for the better without our direct involvement. For instance, a Northerner who cannot speak simple and correct English will be made head over a southern expert, like the case of General Buhari who does not have an SSCE certificate but is boss over a professor, Yemi Osinbajo, a Southerner

This trend of encouraging mediocrity and placing a certain region over the other must stop. Nigeria as currently constituted lacks the inertia to encourage excellence and hard work and is characterised by bad leadership, tribalism, nepotism and mass corruption. The Northerners are the major beneficiary of this failed project and will go  to any extent to ensure the country doesn't disintegrate. It is axiomatic that the Nigerian project is a Northern estate with Southerners as common labourers. Yet we produce both the human and natural resources that sustain the country.

This nonsense must stop.

People of Southern Nigeria must come together to correct these ills. If we must continue as one indivisible entity, the country's leadership must commit to restructuring.

The unity and development of Southern Nigeria is possible.

Southern Nigeria Development Forum is therefore a vision geared towards uniting the people of south South, South South and south South Nigeria, protecting the region and advocating for its Development.

Join the movement.
