The Audacity Of A Woman: Hon. Mrs Blessing Egbara In Perspective

By Justin Obongha

It is undeniable that through the centuries, the role of women in the home, family and society in general has evolved tremendously.

Honourable Blessing Egbara have moved on from the traditional role as wive, mother and homemaker. Having taken on more active participation in a variety of significant functions, her present modern contribution to humanity and her encompassing influence have reached numerous milestones.

Today, Mma Egbara is a working mom, a corporate head, business tycoon, social issues advocate, politician and leader; hers is a strong and empowering voice, a presence that cannot be ignored. Cheers to her for this audacity and courage.

Honourable Blessing Egbara is a contemporary woman, urging to inspire young girls and women in our society to seek empowerment, individualism and independence through corporate and decent contribution to the general society.

Mma Egbara doesn’t need an external source to validate her worth. She knows her aspirations, strives to achieve them on her own, and with the support of her dear husband and will prevail over her struggles.

One thing I so much admire in Mma Egbara, is her strength to take risks, learn from failure, deal with remarks, insults or stereotypes, and the courage to fight for what she believe in and to never give up, no matter how hard a challenge is. Being a female in a male-centric business world like ours, requires strength and confidence to deal with every obstacle or setback.

Mma perseverance is top notch and she  understands the fact that there is nothing within the biological gender that makes her less patient or less suitable for unpredictability.  And she is always prepared to face those biases, and guided with the fact that every person is unique and everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses despite the biological differences.

The most endearing part of her, is her confidence, creativity, and perseverance, but above all else, adaptability in the political scene. As a leader, you need to be able to weather Political changes and wield them to your advantage.

Honourable Blessing Egbara has dared the Political scene of Cross River State. "Mma Egbara is the first female in Central Cross State River to undertake a very daring political expedition by taking a shot at the Senate in 2019 as a Senatorial Aspirant in a zone that has the most vicious and highly corrosive male politicians, not forgetting her first Political pursued for the seat of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency in 2015. Were she made reasonable impacts. By this, she won the admiration of many for mustering such courage in uncrompromised determination.

Her entrant into politics has sent a strong message to other females that though increasing agitations for greater involvement of female in politics is becoming globally scaled, women must, however, make efforts to announce their readiness to participate in politics to the male folks."

I think a greater gratitude should be accorded His Excellency Sen. Prof Ben Ayade, the Executive Digital Governor of Cross River State for finding her worthy enough for such an uncommon ministry such as the Ministry of Humanity and Social Welfare. It is truly a square peg in a square hole. Thank you Governor Ben Ayade for the uncommon choice.

Sofar, so good, as a Commissioner, she has performed above average. And as we advance stealthily towards 2023, I entreat for God's direction and crave that she hand out herself for more service to Cross Riverians especially Central Senatorial District.
