Councilor Gifts One Million, Two Cows, Bags Of Rice, Other Items to Constituents In Cross River State

In the spirit of Christmas and New year celebration, the Councillor representing Calabar Ward Ward 9, Hon. Solomon Ika AKA Boy O Boy has shared over one million Naira, Two cows, 20 Bags of Rice and other items to Constituents and other residents of Calabar. 

This is part of the legislator's gesture to caution the effect of the present economic hardship and to give residents of Calabar a memorable celebration. 

Speaking during the exercise held on the 24th December 2021 at his Calabar residence,  Hon. Ika, who is also the leader of the Elite Alliance Movement, a socio-political group with members drawn from the three Senatorial Districts of Cross River State charged beneficiaries to emulate the footsteps of Christ in leading good lifestyles and coexisting peacefully with one another, while emphasizing the need for leaders to be selfless and committed to the welfare of the people. He maintained that the only way to receive was to give. He therefore urged both leaders and followers to imbibe the spirit of giving to enable them receive from God. The politician cum businessman seized the medium to specially appreciate Sen. Gershom Bassey, Senator representing the Southern Senatorial District of the state, whom he described as a father, role model and a good leader that means well for his people and that matches words with actions. He revealed that Senator Bassey contributed immensely to his present successes both in politics and business.

The Lawmaker has earlier this month empowered fifteen of his Constituents with 100,000 each, sunk a borehole for his church and provided scholarship for students within and outside Calabar.

Speaking, the women Leader of the People's Democratic Party, PDP Ward 9,  Mrs Rachael Gabriel Henshaw decribed the Councilor as a philanthropist per excellence who is committed to the welfare of his people. She said:

"Even before he became a Councillor, Hon. Solomon Ika has been known for his philanthropic gestures. Every year he gathers people across the various wards in Calabar Municipality and beyond to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ"

Also speaking, the Secretary of the people's Democratic party PDP in Ward 9 and secretary of the secretaries forum, Williams Effiong Okon has commended the Sterling performances of Hon. Solomon Ika whom he said has outperformed his office as Councillor.
