2023: Obubra PDP Holds Political Debate, Urges Aspirants To Play Politics With Ethic.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Obubra chapter has held her maiden Political Debate for aspirants seeking to fly the party's House of Assembly, House of Representatives tickets in the forthcoming elections. 

The debate which held yesterday, May 16 at Frank Teddy Hotel, Obubra had in attendance majority of the party executives, leaders, aspirants and members of PDP, Obubra chapter.

Speaking during the event, the chapter chairman of the People's Democratic Party Obubra chapter, Chief Godwin Igwe, appreciated the chapter Executives, leaders, Aspirants and party faithfuls for gracing the event, while explaining that the initiative was intended to create a platform for the chapter to engage Aspirants of Obubra extraction seeking to fly the party's tickets in the forthcoming elections and assess their capabilities and level of preparedness for the responsibilities they seek ahead of primaries. Chief Igwe maintained that the debate was not a competition intended to announce any results of winners or loosers. However, he said the panel will submit a report to the chapter caucus for further deliberations.  

Addressing the Aspirants at different intervals, some of the Leaders of the party, Amb. Dr. Walter Ajogbor, Rt. Hon. Moses Abeng Onoh, Chief Barry Inyang and others, commended the chapter chairman and members of his executive for birthing such an idea, while calling for support from all stakeholders to ensure its continuity in the coming years. They urged the aspirants to to do their best as well as exude the spirit of Sportsmanship if not selected during the primaries and work with the winners for the party's victory. The Leaders also admonished delegates not to sell their votes but instead collect money and vote their consciences to put credible people in Power.

The house of Assembly and representative Aspirants who took turns to present their blueprints, pledged to collapse structures and work with whoever the party nominates during the primaries.
