call him my “oga” but he calls me his brother or friend. This demonstrates the humility and simplicity of Hon Cletus M. Obun, former lawmaker representing Boki 1, in CRSHOA, towards others. For writing this tribute, my oga, please, pardon me for not informing you, simply because you will not approve of it, but I have to. At home, in the fora of esteem supporters, Hon. Obun is a darling of every member of the political family and he's unarguable a household name in the annals of Cross River State politics. He pays keen attention to every detail that affects each member of his household political lineage and everyone who comes close to him. He is an accomplished national and International speaker and opinion leader. Obun’s voyage into public office started in 1999 (4th republic) when he was elected member representing Boki 1 state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly. As member, he was chairman, house Comttee on Local Govt, Rural development and women affairs. Amongst other gigantic achievements, Hon Cletus Obun ensured the house created additional twenty eight (28) Local Govt Areas, as a result of his stentorousity and active participation in the day-to-day activities in the house. I have known Hon Cletus Obun, for over 4years, out of which I have worked closely with him all the years too. He always obliged anytime anyone put a call through to him or sent SMS of their intention to see him. I can also testify that Obun is a listening leader, most especially once he discovers that you are someone who is passionate about good governance and the welfare of the public. He is a rare breed politician, diligent, highly intelligent and well cultured. He is one of the very few de-tribalized Nigerian politician. He is people-oriented project leader. In the face of persecution, abuse, insult and harassment, Hon Cletus Mbia Obun has resisted the temptation to either directly or indirectly abuse, engage or insult anyone. He is a refined politician and history will definitely be kind to him one day, irrespective of current experience. MAY OBUN SUCCEED!!!
