End In Sight For Cross River/ Ebonyi Boundary Disputes As Etaba Moves Motion For A Clear Demarcation B/w The Two States

The member representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, on Wednesday presented a motion on the floor of the house on the need for a clear boundary demarcation between Cross River and neighbouring Ebonyi State. The member of parliament prayed the house to urge the National Boundary Commission to commence and complete the demarcation of the boundary between the two states as well as mandate the committee on legislative compliance when constituted, to ensure the resolutions are complied with accordingly.

Rt.Hon. Etaba, who recalled that, in March 2019, a total of 3000 lives and properties running into hundreds of millions were reportedly lost to hostilities arising from the boundary disputes, reiterated his commitment to the restoration of  peace and, the security of lives and properties.

The motion, therefore, is a step towards providing an enduring solution to the lingering boundary crisis that has enveloped the border communities of the two states for many decades now.

This amongst other rafts of legislative interventions is a reflection of Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba's fealty to the fine ideals of legislative representation and his fidelity to the mandate given by his people to secure a safe and conducive landscape for the people.
