Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba's 100 Days In Office, A Demonstration Of Purposeful And Compassionate Representation

Starting his third term journey in a time of heightening economic  hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy, the member representing the good people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba intentionally focused his first 100 days in office on delivering effective and compassionate representation, engaging constituents in programmes aimed at not just providing immediate relief but equipping them with the necessary skills, financial support and sustainable opportunities for improved livelihood. In this regard, we would like to share with you some of his achievements in the last 100 days as our representative.  

1. MOTIONS

Firstly, during this period, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba moved two impactful motions as part of efforts to address the challenges of the people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency and as a way to contribute to sustainable economic, tourism and grassroots development, foster peaceful coexistence, and above all create job opportunities for constituents. The motions are: (i)the need to construct Etomi- Agbokim Waterfalls road and,

(ii) the need for a clear boundary demarcation between Cross River and Ebonyi states. 

These motions, supported by his fellow parliamentarians, have brought attention to crucial issues affecting the constituency. Through these motions, he has facilitated robust discussions and actions towards finding solutions that will improve the Constituency

2. EMPOWERMENT OF 450 CONSTITUENTS WITH MECHANISED GRINDING MACHINES 

Also within the period, the lawmaker empowered 450 constituents with Mechanised Grinding Machines as a way of reducing the burden caused by the removal of fuel subsidy and a reaffirmation of his unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of the people he represents. 

3. TRAINING OF CONSTITUENTS ON DOMESTIC PRODUCTION

The MP facilitated the training and empowerment of hundreds of constituents on domestic production with the aim of empowering the local workforce, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to engage in various productive activities. By focusing on people oriented project, Rt. Hon. Etaba has continued to demonstrate compassionate leadership, commitment to fostering economic growth and the zeal to empower the people with the necessary skills, financial support and opportunities for survival.

4. PROVISION OF 30 MOTORBIKES TO CONSTITUENTS 

Recognising the agricultural, tourism and economic potentials and the challenge of transportation in Obubra/Etung Federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, within his 100 days in office provided over 30 motorbikes for constituents. This gesture is symbolic of his commitment to improving the lives of our people, as these motorbikes will undoubtedly enhance transportation and accessibility within the constituency

5. FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO HUNDRED OF CONSTITUENTS

As a way of providing immediate relief,  enabling them to address pressing financial needs and stabilising their livelihoods during these challenging times, the lawmaker provided cash to hundreds of constituents, especially participants of the domestic production. 

6. COMMITMENT TO PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT 

During these first 100 days, the member paid crucial visits to the warring communities of Ovonum and Ofatura. It was imperative for him to witness firsthand the challenges faced by the constituents in these communities. Through dialogue and diplomacy, he initiated efforts to promote peace and reconciliation among the parties. This reaffirmed his belief in the fact that unity and cooperation are essential for progress, and underscores his committment to fostering a harmonious environment.

Finally, as the member representing Obubra/ Etung Federal Constituency, he has continued to demonstrate unwavering commitment to the growth and development of his people. He is working tirelessly to delivering on his campaign promises and provide positive changes to the people. It is therefore our duty as constituents to offer moral and other supports to enable him deliver  appropriately. For the purpose of emphasis,  Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba's  third term is going to be worth the while as he is poised to delivering effective and people oriented representation, creating opportunities for employments and empowerments and, attracting the necessary development to our federal constituency. The agricultural and educational sectors are also going to be given prime attention. He has pledged to provide incentives for farmers to stimulate production and scholarships for students. Together, we will strive for progress, development, and prosperity in Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency.
