Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, the member representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, attended a Thanksgiving Mass to express gratitude to God for the successful burial ceremony of Benedeth Nneoma Orisaeke.
The event took place at St. Peters De Apostle Catholic Church at 4/Corners, Ikom, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The Parish Administrator, Very Rev. Fr. Benedict Mose, delivered an uplifting sermon based on the biblical reference from the book of 2 Chronicles 7:4. He emphasized the importance of offering sacrifices to God, following the example of Solomon's dedication of the Temple. Fr. Mose spoke highly of Benedeth Nneoma, praising her as a virtuous woman who selflessly sacrificed to bring happiness and comfort to others. He encouraged attendees to learn from her life and emulate her dedicated approach.
The overwhelming attendance at the Thanksgiving Mass reflected the impact Benedeth Nneoma had on the community during her lifetime. Her philanthropy, caregiving, and mentorship made her widely recognized and respected in Ikom.
Fr. Mose commended the family for acknowledging God's grace and having a successful burial ceremony. He urged everyone to remain faithful to the ways of God and appealed to political leaders to connect with their constituents. Fr. Mose emphasized the importance of unity and unwavering commitment to Christian values, drawing inspiration from the sacrificial life Benedeth Nneoma exemplified.
For Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, the event was an opportunity to express gratitude to his foster family, who played a crucial role in nurturing him during his formative years. He emphasized that gratitude should be an inherent virtue in all individuals, as its absence paves the way for negative attributes to thrive.
Benedeth Nneoma's philanthropic activities will be remembered by many, as she left a lasting legacy of charitable contributions to humanity
