Etaba Urges Couples To Uphold The values of Love, Understanding And Respect In Marriage

Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, member representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency has called on couples to uphold the values of love, understanding, respect and togetherness in marriage. The lawmaker made this call during the marriage blessings of three of his constituents: Peter Ogar Okpa (Limited), Ndifon Ogon(Welas) and Edwin Patrick ( Edinatty) at Christ the King Catholic Church, Nkum Okpambe.

The lawmaker emphasized the importance of fostering harmony and respect within the family and community, adding that healthy partnerships play a crucial role in building strong families and communities.

Expressing his support for the couples, Rt. Hon. Mike generously gifted each pair with the sum of 100,000 Naira. In addition, he presented the officiating priest with an impressive donation of 500,000 Naira to support his priestly ordination anniversary.

During his address to the attendees, Etaba further revealed his commitment to the Catholic community by promising to present a car to the first Catholic priest of Yala-Obubra extraction. This gesture, according to him, is aimed at showing his appreciation for the tireless efforts of religious leaders who work daily to intercede for the church and society.

Also, in his effort to bridge the gab in educational infrastructure and create a brighter future for pupils and students in the constituency, the lawmaker promised to construct a new and well equipped six classroom block at the community primary school Onyen Orangha as the current building being used by the school is dilapidated and creates an uncomfortable learning environment for the pupils.

Appreciating the lawmaker's show of support and commitment to promoting healthy relationships, unity and peaceful coexistence among the three communities, former Councillor representing Ochon ward, Liaison officer to the lawmaker and brother to one of the newlyweds, Hon. Denis Okpa commended Etaba for the gesture, describing him as a compassionate and committed leader who is doing his best to meet the needs of his constituents.

He bolstered that since returning to Abuja, Rt. Hon. Mike has consistently demonstrated commitment to the progress and welfare of his constituents through his involvement in various activities and initiatives, expressing optimism in his continuous efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of the people he represents. Also expressing gratitude,  Edwin Patrick, one of the grooms, who spoke on behalf of the three couples thanked the lawmaker for his  magnanimity, noting that his presence and support contributed prominently to making the day worthwhile.
