College Of Medical Sciences Honours C'River Humanitarian Affairs Commissioner With Award 

The College of Medical Sciences, of the University of Calabar, on 14th July, 2024, presented an award to Dr. Helen Isamoh-Egodo, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to humanitarian services in the state.

The award presentation, led by the Student Union Government (SUG) President of the college, Comr. Obo Etem Okadim, and her Vice, Comr. Obu-Ukah Mario Ogban, acknowledged Dr. Isamoh-Egodo's tireless efforts in addressing humanitarian issues in the state.

Comr. Okadim praised the Commissioner's dedication, stating, "It was imperative that we present this award to Dr. Isamoh-Egodo before the expiration of her tenure, in recognition of the great things she has been doing in the state."

Dr. Isamoh-Egodo, in her reaction, expressed her gratitude, revealing that she had once considered a career in nursing before pursuing academia and criminology. She emphasized that the award would motivate her to continue serving the needy and vulnerable in the state.

The Commissioner also invited the visitors to participate in the upcoming World Humanitarian Day on July 19, 2024, organized by the Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation.
