Revenue Service Team Advocates For A Unified Approach To Revenue Generation In C'River State
In a bid to foster collaboration and synergy between the board of Internal Revenue Service and other MDAs, a team of directors from the Board, on Tuesday, paid a scheduled visit to Hon. Mike Odere, the state's Commissioner for Finance, during which discussions were held with emphasis tailored towards revenue generation, budget planning, and financial management. The meeting explored ways to enhance the state's financial performance, identifying areas of mutual interest between IRS and the ministry of finance.
Members of the team, Dr. Ndoma Odey and Mr. Francis Peter, who are both Directors at the Board of Internal Revenue Service, shared insights on tax administration and revenue collection strategies, pledging to use their new roles to work for increased IGR in the state.
The team also paid a brief visit to Mrs. Catherine, Clerk of the Cross River State House of Assembly, as part of their familiarization tour. The meeting focused on strengthening the relationship between the board and the legislative arms of government, with discussions centered on legislative support for revenue generation in the state.
The tour is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with visits to other government agencies and departments. The initiative aims to promote inter-agency collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a unified approach to revenue generation in Cross River State.
