CTRA Participates In Calabar Carnival, Steals The Show With Electrifying Performance

The Cross River State Commercial Transport Regulatory Agency (CTRA), on Saturday, participated in the 2024 edition of the Calabar Carnival as a non-competitive band, mesmerizing the crowd with an electrifying performance.

The CTRA float, adorned with colorful decorations, was a sight to behold as it made its way through the carnival route. The band, comprised of the agency's staff and supporters, dressed in vibrant costumes, danced and sang along to the infectious rhythms, showcasing their energy and enthusiasm and announcing their permanent arrival in the biggest street party in Africa. 

Remarking during the event, Chairman of the agency, Mr. Efa Nyong, who led the band, expressed his excitement and pride in their participation, describing it as an impressive outing.

"We are thrilled to be a part of this iconic event, which celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Cross River State and to use the opportunity to sensitize the people about the programs of the agency. Our participation symbolises our commitment to promoting the state's tourism industry and the progress of the commercial transport sector"

Mr. Nyong commended the state governor, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his commitment to the welfare and progress of Cross Riverians and the sustainability of the brand Calabar carnival. He lauded Otu's people centric projects and programs and urged him to continue to set the standard for future governance of the state.

Efa also commended the staff and supporters of CTRA for their hard work and dedication, which made their performance a resounding success. "I am proud of our team for their creativity, energy, and passion. We may not be competing for prizes, but we have certainly won the hearts of the crowd with our spectacular display." He said.

The Calabar Carnival, adjudged the biggest street party in Africa, attracts millions of visitors from around the world and showcases the state's rich cultural heritage, music, dance, and art, and provides a platform for cultural exchange and promotion.
