2027: Cross River Central Group Launches Mobilisation Drive for APC Candidates

The Cross River Central for Positive Change has commenced a mobilisation campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the group declaring its intention to rally support for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the Central Senatorial District and beyond.

The mobilisation, being carried out under the slogan “Prince Is Coming Again,” is focused on building grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima at the national level, as well as APC candidates contesting various elective positions in Cross River State.

Those named in the mobilisation include Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Hon. Oden Ewa for the Cross River Central Senatorial District, Hon. Victor Abang for the Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency, and House of Assembly candidates Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem and Hon. Neji Abang.

Speaking on the mobilisation, the Director-General of the group, Elder Dr. Ndoma Odey, said the campaign was designed to take the APC message to the grassroots and strengthen coordination among party supporters across the Central Senatorial District.

Odey said the group was confident in the APC's prospects in the 2027 elections, adding that the mobilisation would be sustained across the district in the months leading to the elections.

He disclosed that the group plans to deploy branded vehicles and other campaign materials as part of its grassroots engagement, while also holding meetings and interactions with community leaders, youths, women, political stakeholders and other groups across the district.

Odey said the group was also committed to presenting what it described as the records and programmes of the APC candidates to the people, while assuring Cross Riverians that the candidates being supported would provide purposeful governance if elected.

The Director-General, who is also a director with the Cross River State Internal Revenue Service, said Governor Bassey Otu had, in his assessment, demonstrated commitment to the development of the state and deserved another term in office.

Odey pointed to what he described as the administration's interventions in critical sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, human capital development and other areas of public service.

He said these interventions would form part of the issues the group would take to the grassroots during its mobilisation, adding that the campaign would focus on engaging citizens at the community level rather than relying solely on political rallies.

Odey explained that the “Prince Is Coming Again” campaign would therefore involve sustained community-level engagement as the 2027 elections approach.

He called on APC supporters across Cross River Central to remain united and participate actively in the mobilisation, urging members of the group to take the campaign to their respective communities.
