...Says Nigeria Will Rise Again

The Director of the Cross River State Internal Revenue Service and Director-General of the Ndoma Odey Foundation, Elder Dr. Ndoma Odey, has called on Nigerians to remain patriotic, prayerful and committed to building a stronger and more prosperous nation as Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary.

Odey made the call in his Independence Day goodwill message to Nigerians, in which he congratulated citizens at home and in the diaspora on the occasion.

He described October 1 as more than a date on the national calendar, saying it represents freedom, sacrifice and the indomitable spirit of the Nigerian people.

According to him, the anniversary also provides an opportunity to reflect on the vision of Nigeria's founding fathers, who dreamed of a united, strong and prosperous nation.

“October 1st is more than a date. It is a symbol of freedom, sacrifice, and the indomitable spirit of a people who refused to be held down,” Odey said.

While acknowledging the challenges that have characterised Nigeria's journey since independence, he said the resilience of Nigerians remained one of the country's greatest strengths.

“Our journey has not been without challenges, but our resilience as a people remains our greatest strength. Nigeria will rise again,” he stated.

The Cross River revenue chief also expressed optimism about the development trajectory of the state, citing what he described as purposeful leadership under the “People First” administration of Governor Bassey Edet Otu.

He noted that the Governor's people-oriented approach had continued to give citizens hope that a better Nigeria was possible, particularly from the perspective of developments taking place in Cross River State.

Odey urged Nigerians, particularly the people of Cross River State, to use the Independence Anniversary to renew their commitment to national development, unity and peaceful coexistence.

He also called for continued patriotism and prayers for the country, stressing the need for citizens to play their respective roles in building the Nigeria they desire.

He prayed for continued progress and prosperity for Cross River State and Nigeria.

“May God bless Cross River State. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Happy Independence Day. Long live Nigeria!” he said.
