Eriacy is a word derived from two Yala/Idoma words, thus: 'eria' meaning idea, opinion or thought or intention  and 'si(cy)' meaning good. Therefore Eriacy can be literarily translated to mean a 'good idea' or 'idea is good' ' good opinion or thought or intention'

The name was invented in the early 2000s along other Yala/Idoma names such Fepsi, Chamsy, Enecy, Twossy Etc by Eriacy confidence Oba who was formally known as Oguda Oba Ndoma and later Confidence Oba Ndoma. He started using the name officially in 2010 and it became part of his pen/screen name in the writing and Nollywood Film industry. 

Eriacy Confidence Oba is a Nigerian Film maker, journalist, blogger, writer, poet,event planner and promoter. He hails from the Eyoo kindred of Echinghro village, Ogana clan, Nkum Okpambe Kingdom, Yala Obubra, Obubra Local Government Area, Cross River State, Nigeria.

Almost all the Yala names of the 21st century with suffix 'si'sy'cy' are attributed to Eriacy Confidence Oba.
