CULTISM; OBUBRA PDP CHAIRMANSHIP CANDIDATE CONDEMNS ACTIVITIES, SUES FOR PEACE.

The people's democratic party (PDP) chairmanship candidate,  Dr Bassey Agara Tom has condemned in totality the villainous activities of cultism in the LGA. He regretted the fact that in spite of the novel Coronavirus ravaging the society the world over and the resultant lockdown in the country, people can still raise their heads to kill themselves brutally in the name of cultism.

Dr Bassey Tom was speaking on the incidence that happened in Ofodua community of Obubra LGA, where cult members of different confraternities clashed with themselves, resulting in the brutal killing of souls. He described such acts as barbaric, uncultured and nefarious. His words..

"I am embarrassed by the nefarious act of brutality my people are perpetrating especially at a time where people all over the world are in sober mood, praying and returning back to God, asking for forgiveness and restoration as the society at large has been shut down by the novel COVID_19. Obubra is crying for development and some people are busy developing penchant for cultism, killing themselves and innocent citizens in their homes.

"It is appalling that this dastardly act is being committed at a critical time like this, a time where people are thrown into mourning mood, it doesn't speak well about my people, that is why I rise today and condemn cultism in totality. I urge everyone to rise in condemnation of wanton killing in Obubra, cultism can only destroy but cannot build, what we need now is a new Obubra, where peace and love shall hold sway.

"Whoever that wants to practice cultism should do that in his house and stop disturbing other neighbourhoods, it is not acceptable, it is uncalled-for and whoever that is caught in the act shall be dealt with according to the law. Let every cultist in Obubra hides his head in shame for this show of stupidity and blatant act of ignorance"

The chairmanship candidate disclosed that he was going to run a peaceful government devoid of cultism when he is sworn in as the chairman of Obubra LGA, noting that cultism is the bane of underdevelopment in every society as it employs the instruments of brutality, violence and cruelty, leading to fear and wanton destruction of lives and properties of not only the confreres, but innocent people who go about their legal businesses. This must not be allowed to persist in our dear LGA and therefore everyone should eschew cult activities in order to contribute positively to the building of the new Obubra we have been longing for.

Let everyone renounce cultism, it can only end in death. It does not affect the society positively, it is brutish and it came from the pit of hell. Let every parent advise his children and wards to stay away from this gruesome organizations of wicked hearts. It does no one no good, but brings to the family horror and sorrow.
Stay safe, do not take a life you cannot create.
