UN WOMEN Installs Ayade, Obanliku Monarch as He-For-She Ambassadors

~*Engages MIDC  to Accelerate Gender Equality *

The UN Women solidarity movement for HeForShe has installed the Executive Governor of CRS, *Sen Prof Ben Ayade* and the Paramount Ruler of Obanliku, *HRM Amos Item*  as HeForShe Ambassadors. This was disclosed during an Advocacy meeting with the Ministry of International Development Cooperation to engage stakeholders regarding reaching parity and achieving a Gender equal World for all. 

Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner MIDC, *Inyang Asibong* reiterated the State Government's commitment through the office of the CRS First Lady, *Dr Linda Ayade* and the MIDC in line with MDAs and partners to accelerate Gender Equality Actions . 

Dr Asibong said Her Excellency, Dr Linda Ayade gives priority to issues of Gender Equality , her office  in line with MIDC and the State Ministry of Women Affairs, is on a journey of implementing SDG 5 which is  Achieving Gender equality and Empowering all Women and Girls 

HeForShe is a solidarity movement for the advancement of gender equality which was initiated by United Nations, grounded on the idea of involving men and boys to achieve Gender Equality. 

The Executive Director, 'I am a Girl Foundation',  a UN Women movement for HeForShe, *Mr Savior Tommy* lauded efforts of the CR First Lady, Dr Linda Ayade, the MIDC and the MOWA for taking a lead in ensuring  People understood and support the idea of gender equality. 

Mr Tommy said the conferment of HeForShe Ambassador to His Excellency, the Governor was based on his track records of empowering women on Political, Administrative and social leadership. 

Ayade's landmark strides include, the first female SSG for CRS , the  highest number of female legislators in any State house of Assembly in Nigeria, the highest quota of women in LGA councils in Nigeria, Facilitating the  Appointment of the First Female Vice Chancellor of UniCal, the appointment of a female Head Of Service and only recently, the confirmation of a female Chief Judge for the state” , Mr Tommy stated. 

In the same vein, the Paramount Ruler of Obanliku emerged as a HeForShe Advocate for his role towards the Abolition of Money Marriage in CRS.
