Nollywood Stars Storm Enugu Unity Park, pledge collaboration with the Government to expand the Tourism sector

The chairman of the Actor's Guild of Nigeria Enugu State chapter, Comr. Brown Ene yesterday led a delegation of top Nollywood Stars and members of the newly inaugurated executive of the Actor's Guild of Nigeria Enugu State chapter to the Commissioning of the Enugu Unity Park in support of the visionary leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. 


The Park which houses a 42 feet high, 72 feet long and 24 feet wide Culture believed to be the largest Lion sculpture in the world is located adjacent to the popular Michael Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu.


Commissioning the park, the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said the park is a response to a yawning gap in the lifestyle of the coal city.


He revealed that the park has a reinforced concrete pedestrian walkway measuring about 1.9 kilometers and a large pond deep enough to offer hydrodynamics for boat riding in addition to the gigantic Lion sculpture. Noting that it was widely believed that the sculpture of a giant roaring lion at the park currently interrogates existing world records on lion sculpture, Ugwuanyi revealed that his administration has applied to World Records Organisations to review this and allocate to the state its rightly place in world history.


Earlier in his welcome address, the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ugonna Ibe, commended Ugwuanyi for the landmark feat in enhancing Enugu State’s status in local and international tourism.


On his part, the chairman of the Actor's Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State chapter, Comr. Brown Ene, while congratulating the governor on his six years in office as well as appreciating him for the success of his administration so far, described the project as timely, strategic and a revolutionary move to reposition the Tourism sector in the state. The chairman who was accompanied by Nollywood Stars such as Nkiru Sylvanus AKA Bleble, Chidiebere and Chidinma Aneke, Former Southeast vice  president of the Actor's Guild of Nigeria, Steve Eboh AKA Ajebo, Former chairman of the Actor's Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State chapter Stan K Amamdi, former AGN Vice chairman, Enugu State chapter AB cowboy, Chairman of AMP, JP Nwanganga, vice chairman of the guild, Ozioma Ijelle, Secretary, Peter ora and other members of the guild to the event, revealed that the state played a vital role in the emergence of the second largest film industry in the world and pledged that the Nollywood industry, which is an integral part of the sector is willing to partner with the state government to further expand the Tourism and entertainment sector in the state. 


He said that most of the highest Stars as well as higest grossing movies in Nollywood were made in Enugu and that it was as a result of the enabling environment created by successive administrations, 

expressing optimism in the the governor's ability  to achieve even more before the expiration of his second tenure.
