Blessing Egbara is the first female in Central Cross  River State to undertake a very daring political expedition by taking a shot at the Senate in 2019 as a Senatorial Aspirant in a zone that has the most vicious and highly corrosive male politicians. By this, she won the admiration of many for mustering such courage in uncrompromised determination.


Her entrant into politics has sent a strong message to other females that though increasing agitations for greater involvement of female in politics is becoming globally scaled, women must, however, make efforts to announce their readiness to participate in politics to the male folks.


Blessing, as the Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare under Governor Ayade led administration, is distinguished for her towering performance in delivering on the mandate of the Governor Ayade's social investment agenda. To know more about her, let us take a stroll into her profile.


Birth:

Mrs. Blessing Egbara was born in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State.


Education:

Mrs. Egbara attended St. Francis Primary School, Obubra for her primary Education. Young Blessing proceeded to Mbembe Comprehensive Secondary School, Obubra and later to Government Senior Science Secondary School, Obubra for her Secondary education.

In her untiring quest for further studies, she secured admission into the Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa for her "A" Levels programme. Mrs. Egbara subsequently attended the University of Calabar where she bagged a bachelor's degree in Management Science.

She served the nation in the compulsory NYSC program in Abuja.

At the moment, the academic enthusiast, holds a post graduate diploma in Education and a Master's degree in Business Administration of the National Open University of Nigeria.


Career/Vocation:

Mrs. Blessing Egbara is an entrepreneur, business Consultant, politician and a practicing Christian.

She also sat at the management as the CEO of many successful companies including but not limited to Arowoyong Investments Limited in Abuja and Calabar.

She has attended several conferences both in Nigeria and abroad and holds few professional memberships.

Mrs. Egbara was a Frontline contestant to the Federal House of Representatives in 2015 for the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency and later the only female contestant to the Senate in 2019 for the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State.

Mrs. Egbara is at the moment, the Cross River State Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare and a member of the State Executive Council.

She is a humanitarian par excellence, empathizing with the downtrodden, vulnerable, indigent and handicapped members of the society 


Marriage:

Mrs. Blessing Egbara is happily married to Mr. Otobha Egbara and they are blessed with children.


For the coming months, this cyber-corner is going to be replete with activities from  that ministry because the Governor's  schemes and programmes, since last year, have some dominative focus on human enhancement mostly in the area of improving on the general welfare of the people, and quite a lot has been going on in the ministry. 


We shall be making those information available to the public for performance evaluation of the mandate conferred on her ministry. We should remember that Governor Ayade had always maintained that his administration is all-involving, all-inclusive and people oriented.
