Dr. Chioma Gershom Bags Lions Club Award, Donates Generator, Commission Health Facility In Calabar

The International Association of Lions Clubs, Calabar Doyen Lions Club, District 404A2 Nigeria has conferred the 2020/2021 Appreciation Ward and the One Star Gold Award on the wife of the Senator representing Cross River South and founder Embrace Africa Empowerment and Development Initiative, Dr. Chioma Gershom Bassey for her humanitarian activities and exemplary leadership.
The award was presented by the District Governor, Lion (Elder) Soni Eloma MJF FCA at the commissioning of the PHC NYSC/Community Based Health Centre (CBHC), Ironbar community, Calabar South, Cross River State.
The construction of the health facility is sponsored by the Calabar Doyen Lions Club Signature Project in partnership with Embrace Africa Empowerment and Development Initiative and Commissioned by the Distinguished First Lady of Cross River South, Dr. Chioma Gershom Bassey.
Dr Chioma thanked the Lions club for seeing her fit for the award and prays for more grace and energy to carry on their humanitarian services.
She also added that what motivates her to do humanitarian services is the heart to serve and to meet the needs of the people.
"The motivations are many, the heart to serve in response to the needs of the people in the community." She said.
She therefore urges members of the community to see the commissioning of the health facility as a blessing, and should engage themselves in health services and promotions in their community.
The event also featured commissioning of Borehole by Elder Soni Eloma, song presentation by health workers, unveiling of the plague, donation of 5GF-LDE Lutian Generator by Dr. Chioma Gershom to help supply light to the facility amongst others.
