Member Representing Obubra Constituency 2 Condemns Jungle Justice In Ofodua Village
The House of Assembly Member representing Obubra Constituency 2, Hon. Frank Ovat has on Monday, the 23rd of August condemned in strong terms, the gruesome murder of a Constituent, Mr. Eno Benjamin over allegations of witchcraftcy and murder.
The sad incident occurred on Saturday, 21st of August 2021 in Ofodua. The Honourable Member while addressing youths and traditional leaders of the community described the incident as barbaric and inhumane.
"I unequivocally condemn the barbaric murder of the victim by yet to be identified mobs. It is saddening and grossly inhumane to take laws into our hands when we have Security agencies whose responsibility it is, to investigate suspects and punish them according to the Law"
He added that, "Jungle justice has claimed the lives of many innocent people and those who would have become positive members of the society if given the chance of correctional reformation. While I urge Constituents to shun violence and stay calm, we will not interfer with the law as investigations have commenced to bring culprits to book"
The victim is survived by wife and children.
I agree with you Honorable,people should be giving a second chance to change for good after all Jesus Christ is still forgiving each of us our sins on a daily basis,
