The Councilor representing the good people of Ofumbongha/Yala Ward, Hon. Glory Okpa has admonished students in all tetiary institutions to shun Cultism, drug abuse and other social vices  so they fulfil their purpose of being in school. 

Hon. Okpa made this statement when the newly inaugurated Executive of Yala-Obubra Students Association, YOSA paid her a call in her Obubra resident during the yuletide. The Lawmaker who regretted the alarming rate at which young people entangled themselves in cult related activities, said there's need for Unions such as YOSA to sensitize students of the danger of such negative engagements.

Speaking, the president of Yala-Obubra Students Association, YOSA, Comr. Richard Agrumon Achigbe thanked the legislator for the hospitality while stressing the need for collaboration to curb the menaces of Cultism, drug abuse and indecent behaviors. 

Comr. Agrumon who was accompanied by a Nollywood Filmmaker, Coordinator of Okpambe Fishing Festival and CEO of Coneri Nigeria, Snr. Comr. Eriacy Confidence Oba maintained that the responsibility of ensuring a safe and healthy society lies with both parents and students. 


In separate speeches, a senior aide to the governor of Cross River State, Mr. Okpa Agara and Media practitioner, Eriacy Confidence Oba charged the body to imbibe good morals and take their studies seriously as this will garantee success in their academics and life.
