The Cross River Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Dr. Mrs Inyang Asibong has bagged Woman Of The Year Award following the successful hosting of Okpambe Cultural and Fishing Festival, OCAFFEST 2022 in Obubra Local Government Area of the state.


Speaking while presenting the award, the coordinator of the event and CEO of Coneri Nigeria, Eriacy Confidence Oba said it was a way to recognize the efforts of those who have impacted the society positively, especially the women, youths and children as well as those who have supported initiatives in Agriculture, tourism, entrepreneurship, Etc aimed at alleviating poverty, hunger and joblessness in the rural areas. He said that, Dr. Mrs. Asibong has over the years demonstrated her passion and commitment for the growth and development of women, youths and children utilizing the opportunities of her office both as Health commissioner and MIDC Commissioner and was therefore due for recognition. He also said the commissioner contributed immensely for the success of Okpambe Cultural and Fishing Festival, hence the award..


Meanwhile, the Honourable Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Dr. Mrs. Inyang Asibong has appreciated the organizers of Okpambe Cultural and fishing festival for considering her worthy to recieve the woman of the year award.  She commended the CEO of Coneri Nigeria, Eriacy Confidence Oba and his team for ensuring the success of the 2022 edition of the event and pledged to continue to contribute her quota for the emergence of a major fishing festival in the state.

Okpambe Cultural and fishing festival is an event with huge potentials for our dear state and I believe it will grow into an international event in no time. And I promise to continue to give my support"


Also in the team were the winner of Miss OCAFFEST Cultural Pageant, Moninkim Anita Alfred and the first runner up, Moninkim Salome Edem.
