The people of Ikom Local Government Area have organised a remarkable reception for Prince Eka Williams, following the recent inauguration of commissioners by the governor of Cross River, Sen.Prince Bassey Otu to aid in the administration and governance of the state. Prince Eka Williams, who was assigned the vital role of Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy was ambushed with a lavished reception ceremony organised by the leadership of Ikom LGA, immediately after the inauguration. 

The reception ceremony, which took place at Naks Hotel, Calabar, was a momentous event attended by top government officials, dignitaries, and well-wishers, including the speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem and the member representing Ikom/Boki federal constituency in the house of representatives, Hon.Victor Abang. The occasion was especially joyous for the Ikom communities, as Prince Eka Williams hails from their midst.

The people of Ikom expressed their jubilation and celebration over the appointment of one of their own to such a key position in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders and people of Ikom, the speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem thanked the governor, Sen. Prince Otu for the appointment, while emphasising the significance of power and renewable energy in driving development and economic growth. He highlighted that the appointment of Prince Eka Williams by the governor was based not only on his qualifications but also on his passion for the sector and the positive impact he has already made within the community.
