Yesterday, the Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Mrs. Helen Isamoh-Egodo, was elated to witness the thrilling novelty match between Team C'River Executive and Team C'River Civil Service ( permanent Secretaries/Directors) at the renowned U.J Esuene stadium. The match was one of the highlights of the 32-day activities of the Calabar Festival, which aims to showcase the vibrant cultural heritage of the state.


The atmosphere in the stadium was electric as football enthusiasts, tourists and esteemed leaders gathered to witness the exciting clash. Among the distinguished guests present was the Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, who showed his support for the teams.


Both teams displayed unwavering determination and skill throughout the match, creating moments of sheer excitement and anticipation. At the end, the game ended one -zero in favour of Team State Executive 


Dr. Mrs. Helen Isamoh-Egodo, as a member of the winning team, felt an immense sense of pride and satisfaction. The victory, according to her, was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and team spirit showcased by the members of Team C'River State Executive.


After the match, the Honourable Commissioner took the opportunity to extend her heartfelt congratulations to her teammates, expressing her gratitude to the Carnival team for including the novelty match in the event, as it provided a platform to bring government officials and civil servants together in a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition. She further emphasized the importance of sports in promoting unity and fostering a sense of community.
