AMPRAC Organizes Film Workshop, Empowers Next Generation Of Filmmakers In Cross River State

According to STARRO ENO,chairman of the Cross River State chapter,  the three-day free film workshop and short film event, organized by the Association of Movie Practitioners (AMPRAC) Cross River State Chapter, which held from the 4th to the 6th of April, 2024 at No. 1. Barracks road, was filled with enthusiastic participants eager to enhance their skills in the art of filmmaking.

The event was graced by distinguished personalities in the Nigerian film industry, including Yusuf, the Chairman of AMPRAC Kogi State Chapter, and Ukaorji Ogbonna, popularly known as Senator, whose presence was to represent Prophet Osinachi Godwin Titus aka BIG DADDY south south coordinator AMPRAC. Their presence added immense value and credibility to the workshop.

Participants at the workshop were privileged to learn from the experienced and talented speakers who conducted various sessions.

 Starro Eno, shared valuable insights on acting techniques and the importance of developing a unique acting style. His vibrant personality and passion for the craft inspired the attendees to unleash their full potential in front of the camera during the film shoot.

Yusuf Benedict, A writer and script supervisor per excellence all the way from Kogi, did justice to knowing your limit as producer or Actor once script is in place, this talk open the eyes of many to film business, hence hands popped up for questions bothering us and answers were given, he left the people with one advise lead love lead.

Ukaorji Ogbonna, a highly regarded filmmaker, enriched the gathering with his knowledge and expertise in screenplay writing, as director and Cinematographer in film production. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, he guided the participants in constructing compelling narratives and bringing them to life on the silver screen.

The event was also graced by veteran actress Maureen Ekpenyong, former AGN CRS Chairperson, Bufa Sunday from CRBC, pastor Offiong, Apst. Donatus White and host of others.

The workshop also featured short films shoot created by the State Chairman Starro Eno, this provided an excellent platform for them to showcase their talent and receive constructive feedback from industry professionals. The level of creativity and storytelling displayed in these short films was truly remarkable, reflecting the immense potential of the film industry in Cross River State.

Furthermore, the event facilitated networking opportunities, allowing participants to establish connections and collaborations within the industry. Filmmakers, actors, and other stakeholders were able to exchange ideas, share experiences, and forge partnerships that will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of the Nigerian film industry.

Overall, the just concluded AMPRAC Cross River State Chapter's three-day free film workshop and short film event was a resounding success. It served as a platform for aspiring filmmakers to enhance their skills, receive guidance from industry experts, and gain exposure for their creative endeavors. 

The presence of notable personalities and the high level of participation reflected the commitment and enthusiasm of the filmmaking community in the region.

Undoubtedly, this event has paved the way for a brighter future for the Nigerian film industry in Cross River State. With the knowledge gained and connections established, participants are well-equipped to create captivating stories that will captivate audiences both locally and internationally. 

The AMPRAC Cross River State Chapter deserves commendation for its efforts in nurturing and empowering the next generation of filmmakers, ensuring that the art of storytelling continues to thrive in the region and this also made our Actors to know their dos and don'ts to aid the producers and make our Actors standout as role models.
