Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba Applauds Senator Bassey Otu's Led Administration For Boosting Sports Activities In C'River State

The Leader of the Cross River State Caucus in the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, has stated very emphatically that the entire people of Cross River State are indeed, in very good hands.

He noted with happiness that when the righteous rule, the people indeed rejoice and rejoice exceedingly.

The ranking Federal Parliamentarian made this profound declaration at the U J Esuene Sports Stadium, Calabar during the Novelty Football Match between Ma Adiaha Babes and Prince Otu's Sons, as part of the activities that heralded the 60th Birthday Anniversary celebrations of the Wife of the Governor,  Rev. (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Edet Otu, recently.

The distinguished Member of the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly, noted that the commendable team spirit and noticeable camaraderie that was showcased in the novelty match, was second to none and should be highly recommended and adopted by all and sundry.

Rt. Hon. Etaba reiterated the fact that the notably crowd-pulling game of football naturally engenders collective participation, unification and universal appeal and focusing attention on it is not out of place.

   However, he further called on His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, to equally shift his attention to the promotion of other sports activities in the State, He added that doing so will elevate other sports and bring the much needed glory to the State. He disclosed further that there has been encouraging series of Novelty Football Matches and competitions, which have all kept the athletic spirit of the people very high. He expressed gratitude and high commendations to the Otu led administration, noting that since the administration has shown so much interest in the promotion of sporting activities, other sports such as swimming, table tennis, hand ball, volleyball, cricket and base ball, should be greatly encouraged and continued in order to create the needed balance.

   According to the people's law maker, the continuous promotion and advancement of sporting activities in the Cross River State landscape will reposition the State amongst the comity of States and even on the global level. This, he opined, will be realizable in the no distant future.

   He also called on all well meaning and patriotic Cross Riverians to come together with oneness of purpose and vehemently support the Prince Bassey Otu administration's

 Prosperity Agenda for Cross River State, as it is indeed, a divine manifestation that Governor Bassey Otu is on the throne today. 

  Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba drew attention to the ugly fact that Cross River State has already been known and described as an atomistic society that is perpetually at war with itself, but that it has now become imperative for Cross Riverians themselves to make conscious efforts and the firm decision to change that negative narrative, by giving Governor Bassey Edet Otu the peace, tranquility, support and crisis-free environment to operate seamlessly.

   The law maker who is totally people-oriented condemns every move by anybody to disturb the peace and tranquility of the State and called for the continuous promotion of justice, vigilance and accountability as ably demonstrated so far by Governor Bassey Otu.

   He finally enumerated the very ingredients that transform States and territories into global brands, including sports, which Governor Otu is relentlessly pursuing to the admiration of all.
