50 Most Influential Cross Riverians: Awardees Storm Metro Hotel, Hail Organizers for the initiative, Recognition
The Metropolitan Hotel in Calabar played host to a distinguished gathering of leaders, professionals, and stakeholders as awardees of the “50 Most Influential Cross Riverians” were officially unveiled during the launch of a special edition of Inside Cross River News Magazine.
The initiative, a maiden project of Jabari Media Communications, celebrates 50 outstanding Cross Riverians drawn from diverse sectors for their significant contributions to the development and advancement of the state. The recognition aims to promote a culture of hard work, inspire mentorship, and highlight exemplary leadership among indigenes at home and in the diaspora.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Oshaka commended the publication for its depth and quality, noting that the magazine’s detailed profiles of the honourees reflect both excellence and impact. He praised Inside Cross River News Magazine for its role in shaping positive narratives and contributing to the state’s progress.
In his opening remarks, the Convener, Ambassador Kanjal Awam, emphasized the vast human capital available within Cross River State. He stressed the need to harness the expertise and resources of Cross Riverians globally to drive sustainable development. Awam also called for increased participation from the private sector, particularly in the areas of sponsorship and strategic partnerships, to further elevate such initiatives.
Representing his wife and constituents, Hon. Engr. Thomas Aruku, Member representing Ogoja State Constituency, expressed appreciation to the organizers for the recognition. He described the honour as both humbling and motivating, stating that it serves as a reminder to intensify efforts in delivering impactful service to his people.
Other award recipients, drawn from various professional backgrounds, also lauded the organizers for what they described as a commendable and inspiring initiative.
The event marks a significant step in recognizing excellence and fostering a renewed commitment to development across Cross River State.
