Odey Ndoma Joins Assembly Race for Ikom 1, Promises Inclusive and Result-Oriented Representation
A board Director with the Cross River State Internal Revenue Service and Director General of the Odey Ndoma Foundation, Chief Dr. Ndoma Odey has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ikom 1 State Constituency seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly, pledging to deliver purposeful, inclusive, and results-driven representation.
In a statement released by his media team, Odey decried what he described as years of ineffective representation in the constituency, noting that the voices of the people have largely gone unheard while their needs remain unmet.
He, however, expressed optimism about a new direction for Ikom 1, anchored on accountability, action, and measurable progress.
“As the political season unfolds, I am offering myself for a different kind of leadership—one that is purposeful, inclusive, accountable, and truly transformative,”Chief Odey stated.
A seasoned accountant and financial expert, Odey said his ambition is driven by a deep commitment to service and a desire to restore public confidence in governance. He emphasized that Ikom 1 deserves more than symbolic representation, stressing the need for a bold and people-oriented voice in the legislature.
According to him, he would bring his wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to bear in translating policies into tangible benefits that will directly improve the lives of constituents.
Odey highlighted his close connection with the grassroots and the power brokers, noting that his understanding of the people’s challenges positions him to offer practical and lasting solutions. He added that his leadership philosophy is guided by integrity, responsibility, and a consistent focus on results.
He further outlined key priorities of his campaign to include improving road infrastructure to enhancing agricultural productivity and local commerce, ensuring accessible healthcare services, strengthening the education sector, and promoting youth empowerment initiatives.
On youth development, Odey stressed the importance of creating sustainable opportunities through skill acquisition programmes and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.
“The future belongs to the youth, and we must move beyond rhetoric to creating real opportunities that empower them economically,” he said.
He called on the people of Ikom 1 to seize the moment and make informed choices that will shape the future of the constituency, urging them to embrace progress, accountability, and purposeful leadership.
“The choice before us is clear—between stagnation and progress, promises and results. I stand ready to serve and to work with the people to build a future that works for everyone,” he added.
The declaration signals the beginning of what is expected to be a competitive race for the Ikom 1 State Constituency seat ahead of the next general elections.
